Ciboure is in south-western France. It is located across from the harbour of Saint-Jean-de-Luz on the Nivelle river. Ciboure has many buildings in the traditional Basque style of Lapurdi. There is a sixteenth century church that has an octagonal tower. Adjacent to Ciboure a 15th-century fortress built by Louis XIII.
