The hotel is situated 32 km (20 miles) from the airport and 12.8 km (8 miles) from the capital city Bridgetown, and a half-mile from the nearest shopping centre in Holetown.
Tastefully decorated in a relaxed Caribbean style, all of our St. James hotel guestroom accommodations are modeled on magnificent ocean vistas. The Fairmont Royal Pavilion, Barbados has 72 deluxe ocean-front accommodations, each with its own private balcony or terrace. Our three bedroom villa enjoys views of the lush surrounding gardens. Guest Room Fairmont Oceanfront Deluxe Rooms Each of our Fairmont Deluxe rooms has a private balcony or terrace (14' x 6') with a stunning ocean view, along with lounges and a dining table ideal for a quiet in-room dinner. Elegant touches such as marble bathrooms with separate shower, luxury toiletries and fresh flowers complemente this ample rooms. All Fairmont Deluxe rooms have lounge chairs which create a comfortable seating area, fully stocked mini bar, iron and ironing board, and high speed internet access. Some rooms have the ability to interconnect, providing the ideal environment for guests or families travelling together. Rooms can accommodate two adults. A child can be accommodated on an extra bed (as necessary) between the April 01 - October 31, each year. From November 01 - March 31, our beach hotel in Barbados features an adult only environment. The villa specialty suite offers two bedrooms and a sitting area on the ground floor with views of the lush gardens. Spiral stairs lead to another bedroom on the upper level, which has an ocean view from the balcony. The villa can accommodate parties of six traveling together. Bed Type: one King bed (upstairs bedroom); one king bed and two twins (downstairs bedrooms) Size: approximately 1100 sq. ft. The Fairmont Royal Pavilion's Executive Chef Didier Virot hails from Lorraine, France where he began studying the culinary arts at age 12. As a student of École Hôtèlier de Strasbourg he earned his degree in Culinary Arts and Hotel Administration. Virot arrived in New York in 1990 where he worked at New York's Park Bistro and La Cote Basque before being named Executive Chef at Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Jo Jo followed by Vongerichten's four-star restaurant Jean Georges. He opened his first solo venture in 2001 in the Dylan Hotel followed by the acclaimed Aix on the Upper West Side in 2002, and FR.OG in SoHo in spring 2007. At New York's legendary Plaza hotel, Chef Didier oversaw some of the city's most celebrated dining establishments. Chef Virot is inspired by local products and works closely with Barbado's farmers in order to source only the best produce. “Barbados is well known for its distinctive local fare as well as its excellent variety of international cuisine, and my food reflects these tastes. Organic produce and natural products inspire me and thus are a focus of my cuisine.” Chef Virot has a passion for painting and collecting French wines – he has also trained as a sommelier. His food is influenced by his grandmother who grew up in North Africa and his grandfather who traveled extensively in Asia
