The town of Quepos (named for the native Quepo Indians) is the capital of Aguirre canton in Puntarenas Province. It is about 60 km. to the south of San José, but it is a 157 km drive, passing through various small towns. Quepos is next to Manuel Antonio National Park. The towns main industry is tourism. There are bars, restaurants and a very spirited night-life.
