Air Transat is increasing the size of its fleet to 16 wide-body jets, with the addition of a new Airbus A310-300. The airline, together with its sister company, tour operator Transat Holidays and its European partners, will be offering a choice of 55 direct city-pair routes between Canada and Europe this summer, to a total of 30 destinations.

The new A310 – Air Transat’s 12th – has, like the others, 259 leather seats: 20 in Club class and 239 in Economy class. This latest addition to the fleet has also resulted in the hiring of 15 pilots and 120 flight attendants, bringing the total number of Air Transat pilots to 275 and flight attendants to 1,100. Air Transat also operates four Airbus A330s with 362 or 363 seats.

For the summer of 2007, Transat Holidays and Air Transat will together be serving 30 European cities, including the following new holiday destinations: Barcelona, Malaga and Vienna. Transat Holidays, for its part, offers travellers an extensive range of tours – both escorted and independent – vehicle rental and accommodation through its partnerships with more than 600 hotels in 10 European countries.
